By the time we were ready to return, the French national strike was over and things in France were beginning to return to some sort of normal - at least there was fuel in the filling stations. So we opted for a fairly direct route - well except for the Route Napoleon bit. That was probably a mistake - just too many hairpin bends to make any real progress.

We came back through France: Cannes - Grasse - Gap - Grenoble - Lyon - Auxerre - Paris - Bolougne.

The journey home was a bit of an anti-climax - mainly overcast and quite often raining. Two days to get to Kent and another day through the UK.

From the few photographs I took on the way home it looks like we might have navigated through France by old aircraft parked in unusual places. But, really, we just encountered them along the way. I didn't take any shots in the UK on the way home.

A very odd place to find an aircraft. Why the hubcap on the side of the fuselage? Tight squeeze!. Ex-French Air Force Dassault 450 Ouragan in the grounds of a motel.
