March 1971. First day out - a trip to a local autocross at Barns Ness in East Lothian. I wasn't competing!

At Barns Ness. On the way home, at about 60mph on the straight between Tranent and the Wallyford Roundabout, the front end went very light. It was clear that there was more lift than downforce at the front end. The screen would have to be more raked and the bonnet streamlined.
May 1971. Time trials at Ingliston. The windscreen and bonnet angles have already been improved. I was at Ingliston more to try out the car than to compete. I couldn't work out how I couldn't get more speed down the back straight. Then I realised that it was the first time I had driven in a helmet - and I couldn't hear that I was still in 3rd.
